Hello! My name is Aaron and I am also one of the Co-founders of IX Swap. My background has primarily been in traditional finance and banking. I grew up in Melbourne but have spent most of my career in Singapore doing investment advisory across multiple large private banks. During my time in the banking industry I was extremely fascinated by the crypto industry and started trading and arbitraging crypto markets back in 2017. The crypto markets were extremely volatile but offered a plethora of opportunities and offered an open architecture which was the complete opposite to what I was experiencing at the bank.After years of being fed up and frustrated with traditional banking practices, I left the bank and pursued my interest in crypto trading opportunities for a few years before joining InvestaX which is a leading platform for global security token projects. Security tokens were a natural evolution for me given my experience in traditional finance and love for crypto.I will be leading IX Swap business strategy and operations going forward.

My name is Julian and I am one of the Co-founders of IX Swap.I was born and raised in Sydney Australia, and have spent my life starting companies (7 companies over the last 20 years based in Beijing, Shanghai and Singapore) including social media/technology, real estate investment & development, proptech and blockchain.I have spent my life starting businesses in new markets and new industries and now focused on building IX Swap as key infrastructure connecting DeFi and CeFi. IX Swap is the “Uniswap” of the Security Token (STO) / Tokenized Stock (TSO) industry.IX Swap will be the FIRST platform to provide liquidity pools and automated market making functions for the security token (STO) & tokenized stock industry (TSO). The platform will be the first DeFi platform to facilitate the trading of security tokens through licensed custodians and security brokers which will provide actual ownership and claim over these real world assets.
So just to clarify before I answer your question, even though IX Swap focuses on security tokens, the IXS token is a utility token that soon can be traded freely on any cryptocurrency exchange.So here are the features of the IXS tokens —
IXS token holders will be able to stake their tokens on IX Swap to receive an interest rate as income. Platform earnings in the future will also be distributed to IXS token holders.IXS token holders will also be able to stake their tokens for governance related to the activity of IX Swap.IXS token holders will also receive priority access to new STO issuances on the InvestaX primary STO issuance platform.With regards to the competition, there are some of the other platforms that are doing something similar with synthetic assets that provide wrapper tokens with correlated price movements to publicly traded assets but do not provide any ownership.The assets being traded on our platform may include tokenized stocks and synthetic securities but also other security tokens which have claims over real world assets. (ie. property, private company equity ownership, investment funds) We facilitate this through licensed custodians and broker-dealers that ensure safe and proper handling of securities to protect our investors.

Unlike pure cryptocurrency platforms, STO trading on IX Swap will add an extra layer of security which are the 3rd party licensed custodians.
When STOs are transferred to IX Swap, it will be deposited with the custodians for safekeeping. These assets are held with the custodians and are immobilized. At the same time, a wrapper token representing these STOs are then issued to the liquidity provider which then can be placed into the liquidity pools for trading.Attempting to hack the system to steal these wrapper tokens would provide no value as there are rigorous security measures to prevent withdrawal of the STOs from the custodians leaving them with just an empty wrapper token.The current security token market lacks trading venues to provide liquidity for trading or even buying these security tokens. Most platforms in the world are currently trading security tokens in an OTC manner, similar to what we saw in DEXes pre Uniswap.IX Swap is a revolutionary adaptation of the crypto world for security tokens. It allows security token holders to provide liquidity to IX Swap pools and receive a share of the fees of the pool allowing liquidity providers to take part in the fees previously earned by exchanges and market-makers.

Furthermore, the team/strategic partnerships are all vested over a 3 year period which is longer than most projects. How was the idea to create this project born? It is very interesting. What do you want to prove? What are your expectations?

Over the last few years many companies (us included) have been working hard and tirelessly at building out the STO infrastructure. Security token issuance companies, exchanges and custodians have been licensed, established and are paving the way for the rebirth of the STO ecosystem.However, despite this rapid development, a key problem, trading liquidity, still persists. This has been a well-known issue and the industry has been kicking the can down the road, waiting and hoping that traditional market makers would enter the space.Today, there is still a lack of market-makers in the space to do this. We have built IX Swap to solve a key infrastructure problem in the STO ecosystem. IX Swap was birthed not to create some other run of the mill DeFi project but as a NEED for the STO industry for it to progress and expand beyond its current limitations.

Currently NFT is gaining popularity and it seems that NFT has a bright future. So do you have any plans to incorporate NFT into your project?

If you like the idea of tokenizing the world, the right path forward is security tokens and not NFTs or purely cryptocurrency. Don’t get me wrong, NFTs are great, I own a bunch of different NFT’s myself but NFTs aren’t going to solve everything and give ownership rights over the home that you live in, or equity in the companies that we buy food from. The types of security tokens we see in the market right now are assets like houses, cars, hard assets (like machinery, livestock, produce) and equity of companies. These are the assets that we see in our everyday lives. Security tokens allow for the fractionalization of these assets bringing liquidity to these illiquid assets and providing access to these private assets. Security tokens are the solution to tokenizing the world and now that the proper licenses and infrastructure has been built, the STO market can finally take off.
